Ways to use the Flower Keys
There are many ways in which you could use the Flower Keys. Here are some of our suggestions below. You can tell us how you have been using them by leaving a comment at the bottom of the page.
  • Journey through a green space suitable for groups of younger children age 3 + and their parents. Walk through a park. When you first come across one of the wild plants given in the Flower Keys, stop and complete the activity associated with that flower. Then continue on your journey looking for more flowers. You could even draw a map to show your adventure.
  • Pick a card suitable for 5 years + with adult support. Fan the cards out. A child should select a card with their eyes closed and then look for the wild plant shown on the card selected and complete the corresponding activity. Repeat with more cards.
  • Snap suitable for all ages played in different ways. Take a walk around your local park with a selection of the cards. Each time you spot a flower in the park which is also on the cards shout snap. How many snaps can you do?
